Arugam Beach

Arugam beach is one of the most popular beaches in Sri Lanka. It is known as a paradise for every surfer. It is surrounded by Yala National Park which accords for the abundance of wildlife present here. The best months to visit this beach is from June until August. This is a season for high waves and hence considered the best for surfing. It is said that several International Surfing competitions are organized here in this season.

Arugam beach has many bays, a very popular spot is the Elephant point located at the end of the bay. Tourists visiting Arugam walk to this point to have a view of the whole surrounding.
