Mexico is perhaps more famous for its Tequila then for wine, which was first introduced by the Spanish in the 16th century. While the wine is perhaps not at the forefront of peoples first thoughts on Mexico, it does offer visitors a different perspective to this vibrant country. Wine making is most prevalent in Baja California, where you will find many wineries producing excellent wines. The tour begins with a few days in Mexico City exploring the ancient sites as well as the food and wine found in the city. Next, we travel to San Miguel de Allende, considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world and a UNESCO site, we explore the city as well as the local wines. Next, we head to the north of the country and travel along some of the ‘Ruta del vino’ and explore the valleys of La Grulla and Santo Tomás.
On arrival, be met by your private vehicle and transfer to your downtown hotel, the remainder of the day is at leisure.
