Location-

The location of the luxurious Jamtara Wilderness Camp is near Jamtara Gate of Pench National Park. It is about one and a half-hour drive from the park's better known Seoni entrance. The nearest airports are Nagpur and Jabalpur, where the camp is about 150 kilometers north of Nagpur, which takes approximately 3 hours’ drive. And it is 208 kilometers southwest of Jabalpur, which takes about four and a half hour to reach the camp. 

The Pench National Park renowned for its wide-ranging wildlife population including Tigers and 280 varieties of migratory birds. Besides these, Pench has leopards, Wild dogs, spotted deer, Jackal, Wild Boar, Blue Bull, Sambar, and the Indian Bison.

Accommodation and Settings-

Jamtara Wilderness Camp offers ten luxury tents, all designed to feel light and airy with a perfect view of nature and wildlife around you. The good thing is you have options for both indoor and outdoor lounges, a library, valet parking, and laundry. The main area of the tents are the expansive bedrooms and sitting area. It has canvas walls and roof with elegant hardwood floors. You have an option of rolling up the front panels of your tents to have a better view of the natural surroundings. 

The recycled colonial furniture from a previous government house dominates the outlook of the tents. The tents have no televisions or any WiFi connectivity and have limited phone signals. But on the plus side, it allows you to disconnect from your daily routines and lets you enjoy your time with nature. 

You can try the star beds set up on Machaans in the middle of the farms. These Machaans built high on the stilts, accommodating a double four-poster bed for two people. The beds fitted with mosquito netting, keeping you safe and giving you a chance to admire the field for wildlife. And as these beds set on a farmer's land, the fee goes directly back to the farmers.

Jamtara Wilderness Camp gives its guests options to choose between a jungle plan and an all-inclusive plan for their board basis. But go for the all-inclusive program as it includes all meals, game drive refreshments with other refreshments, walks in buffer zones, and cookery classes. There is a central area of the lodge which houses a small library, a small lounge area, pantry, and a smaller area where cooking demonstration takes place.

The meals offered are continental food including soups and salads and local cuisines. If you want any specific dietary menu or other preferences, you can make a special meal request in advance.

Facilities for children-

Jamtara Wilderness Camp welcomes the children, and they can accommodate an extra bed in each tent. They can enjoy activities like- village walks and cycling around the lodges, but please note that Safaris are not ideal for small children. Children under six years of age can stay for free

Activities-

Jamtara Wilderness Camp genuinely focuses upon the wildlife. Therefore, the main events on the offer include guided walking safaris, led by knowledgeable guides from the local area. The camp also has 4*4 safari vehicles so you can take part in the day and night drives to admire the stunning flora and fauna of the area. But one thing you should keep in mind while enjoying safari that it’s illegal to hop out of the jeep, so bring binoculars for animal spotting. 

You can also indulge yourself into some other activities like- village walk, where you can witness the daily life of the locals. You can go for the birdwatching, cycling and mountain biking along with interacting with the communities. They also have some activities for children as they can indulge in bicycles or splash in the pool. 

Packing tips: Extra bug spray will come handy. Also, bring a portable speaker to pump up the ambiance in your room.
